As President of Morgan Group, Evan Schlecker oversees risk management across the company’s development, construction, and design activities nationwide. He remains actively involved in all aspects of apartment development, construction, management, and finance. Evan serves on Morgan’s Executive Committee and Investment Committee.
Since joining Morgan in 2012, Evan has been involved in the development and acquisition of more than 16,000 apartment units, representing over $4.4 billion in total project costs. Prior to joining Morgan, he co-founded BlueRoot Partners, a firm focused on acquiring distressed real estate opportunities. Evan began his career at Torchlight Investors (formerly ING Clarion), where he worked on the restructuring of non-performing commercial real estate assets.
Evan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, with concentrations in Real Estate and Finance. He is actively involved in the industry and is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Multifamily Blue Council, the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Miami Chapter, and the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC).
Evan and his wife, Alex, have been married since 2017 and have two children. Outside of work, he is passionate about philanthropy and enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, skiing, and traveling.
